Here is the error message:

Error: Currently Online is currently unavailable.DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.UsersOnline.Settings.LoadSettings() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Since I'm new to DNN and this was a new install yesterday, all bets are off right now :-)

Any ideas where to look next?

If a user cancel his account, the total count of users never decrement.

I figured out that in the table UserPortals, the deleted flag is often true when the ActivatedAccount is also True. I changed the stored procedure to validate thos 2 flags instead of just ActivatedAccount and it gave the correct result.

I assume you plan on keeping around the soft deleted users and will not be clearing them out of the database?

Actually, it shows only the total number of users. It will be great to show the total count of users for each role.

I wanted to setup a Google map mashup application that maps the users/visitors online real-time. So the idea is have pins on the map where the visitors and users are at any given time. I have setup a separate db in MySQL that works fine with Google Maps, but in order to map the users I would need their IP address.

Would you guys consider adding the IP address to the table for the UO module for user/visitors? This way I could mirror the to dbs (the UO table with the Map table in MySQL) and draw the maps from the MySQL table. I think there might be other things that we could do if you were to add additional data to the UO module you keep in the table, IP being one example.

As an option is would be good to "track" to see what page the user last requested and let everybody else know (provided they have permissions to view the same pages as the user).

You could also make it an "admin only" option.

Very trivial new feature though.

There is an issue in stored procedure DNNUOL_GetOnlineUsers (4.9.4).
